"For this piece, I have utilized several different painting techniques, ranging from an impasto, stylized approach to a glazing technique for the waterfall, as well as portrait painting, where I focused on creating a smooth surface before adding detail to the face (my self-portrait). The idea for the painting emerged from an initial feeling rather than a concrete concept. I wanted to depict my childhood home - not in a literal sense, but as a core memory in my mind. Throughout the process, I allowed intuition to guide me in achieving the desired aesthetic."
